concept I've been putzing with...

Its kinda nice since I've finished school I can do whatever the hell I want now. Meaning, I've always been a cartoonist, but they tried to squash that in school, in favor of a sci-fi approach. fuck 'em. This is a concept of a nasty little dude who causes all kinds of shit and gets in trouble. Based off of the day of the dead skeletons from Mexico. He will be built in 3D and animated if all goes well (3D is already well underway).

I'll post updates often. Now I'm back at my craptastic day job I only have like an hour a day to work on fun stuff, but thats life I guess!

Birmingham Alabama...Vulcan country!

So I had a completely stressful week last week, and was looking forward to visiting friends in Birmingham Alabama over my 4 day Memorial Day weekend. I took off Friday evening on my Harley and 310 miles, 2 thunderstorms, lots-o-drizzle, and a completely soaked Dave-O and motorcycle I made it. No pictures were taken enroute due to excessive rain. The first couple of days we just hung out, laughed, drank beer. On Monday, we took a trip over to Barber Motorsports and Museum. If you haven't been and are in the area and love motorcycles as much as I do, you must stop and check it out. The most insane collection of motorcycles I have personally ever seen. Lets see some pictures....

The entrance!

Ever seen a Crocker? Broke my Crocker cherry here...that just sounds gross. Unfortunately its sitting in this museum and probably hasn't been started in who knows how long, but still cool.

Holy Shit...a Britten V1000

Norvin...rad!

I liked this bike...the details are amazing...the picture doesn't do it justice. It was a Biker Build Off bike that was aired on The Discovery Channel. See if you can see how the oil tank is mounted...

A nice Ducati Desmoquattro...

They had bikes stacked up like matchbox cars!

A perfect Interceptor for Tommy.

And finally, a very cool video of the track from inside the museum. It started raining before I could get outside and get a track level view. The riders had stopped by then...

There were so many motorcycles, there was no way I could take pictures of all of them, but I tried to take pictures of the ones I liked. I am going to get the rest of them (all 86) uploaded to my Flickr account, so check back there in the next couple of days if you are interested. I had a great time hanging out with friends, but had to head back. I rode the 310 miles back today (Tuesday) and have never been so drenched with rain riding in my life. It was like someone was pouring buckets of water on top of me. The second half, right past Atlanta, the weather finally cleared up and I was able to dry out. Are you noticing a pattern here with my motorcycle trips in the south so far?

Harley Upgrades

Got these from Kutty today...

farmer toms "official" debut...

Went well. Played the Frequency (Madison) and encountered nothing but positive vibes from the club, other bands, and the crowd. They all seem to be getting better with their patronizing ;)

Played with an absolutely wonderful duo outta Brooklyn, Kaiser Cartel. Shit, they are good. Check 'em...

Georgia or bust...

So if you did or didn't know, I'm stuck having to finish a school in eastern Georgia this entire summer. There isn't really any good skating for 120 miles and there isn't much to do down here. I miss my garage and being able to hang out in there and work on things. Anyway, enough bitching, I'm trying to make the best of it. I trailered my Harley down here and decided to go for a ride to Charleston, SC last weekend. 400 miles round trip, pissed on by rain 3 times, and a nasty sunburn...I wouldn't have had it any other way. Here's some photos...

On the way down, I took the back roads and passed through a small hick town called Harleyville. I passed by this cycle shop and decided to stop and check it out. Not really anything cool, but I decided to take a couple pictures for the hell of it.

I wasn't really a fan of this custom Triumph, but it was a '67 T120, so I took some pics.

Didn't really like this bike either (I am a fan of Shovelheads though), but its a '84 Shovelhead, the last year they made them. I think the motor is out of a Night Train. Uuuughhh...tassels.

Next stop, Sweatmans BBQ. It was in the middle of nowhere, which is right outside of Holy Hill, SC in my opinion. Anthony Bourdain went there on his show. I was expecting better, but it was still alright. Dennis' in Augusta (Hephzibah) is better in my opinion. Me looking like a dipshit as usual.

When I got to Charleston, I had no plan. I just wanted to go check out the beach, but I didn't even know how to get to that. I noticed this huge bridge and decided to just ride across it and check it out on the other side. As I was riding I noticed this air craft carrier down in the river. Pretty cool. Turns out it is a floating museum and was a boat that served in WWII. The boat was the USS Yorktown.

Decided to get some more food when I was done and went to this restaurant right on Charleston Bay in a town on an island called Mt. Pleasant. The food sucked, but the view was cool with all of the shrimp boats parked along the little river that ran out to the bay.

After that, I just hit the Interstate and rode back to Augusta. My skin is still peeling...

Oh, here's the view outside the window of my room on the 5th floor on Fort Gordon. You can see Eisenhower Army Medical Center in the distance.
