| These types of river crossing were the norm on this trip. I didnt get a photo but Adam launched over the river only to slam his right ski into the birm, knocking him off and tipping my sled over...no damage though and was quite funny to witness |

| Our feerless leader "Skeeter" put his sled in a 4-5' deep ravine not long after telling us "watch out on this route...there deep, hidden ravines that will swallow you and you sled whole" |

| After we got his sled up on the path he hit the gas a little to get out further and proceeded to coast it right into another ravine....this one was tits deep. |
Adam and I have been to the UP sledding several times and always have a good time but since we dont know where the hell we are going alot of time gets wasted on the main trails trying to find the good stuff. This time we had the pleasure of hooking up with the local old timers...and when I say old timers I mean 50-72 yrs old! We met these guys and once we saw them we thought this might be a slow ride...wrong! We went 130 miles through the backcountry in the best snow we've ever ridden in...only hit about 10miles of actual marked trails...fucking awesome! We saw it all from watching a 72 old guy drop an 8' bank onto a half frozen river to the multitude of water crossings. 15 sleds in our group and no real issues...the best trip up there ever. No we know that we need to ride with the locals!

Hey Mr. Psycho, thanks back to you, glad you like our blog. The gorillaz artist is Jamie Hewlitt. Before the gorillaz, he did a comic called tank girl. Lots of mad max motorbikes in that one. The neon gig, like any gig, has it's good days and bad days...

Tom, ah, now it all falls into place, it was a similarity of style that had my amateur, trainspotter mind confused. Damn right, every gig has it's ebb and flow, beats the shit out of grinding shit out for 'Da Man' though, ta mate, as I said, dig your stuff.

Well I hope your going well after End of March or April. The snow has been known to stick around well into April. And I've even heard of years where people are still riding snowmobiles in April! That hasnt happened in while but ya never know!
Hopefully it won't be a problem, I'm going in early May. And my support vehicles can carry an extra set of wheels with studded tires mounted, right?
Yeah, but those support vehicles are only at border crossings. Where are you planning a trip too?
Bens going all they way to hell and back and Im pretty sure the only things the support vehicles will be stocked with is illegal contraband and Grain Belt!
East...through the great lakes region, on to DC maybe to see a old friend, wherever the stars steer me. I like the idea of Grain Belt checkpoints!
